Life as a riviera maya wedding photographer

The life of a riviera maya wedding photographer is always an eventful one. You have to deal with the usual challenges of the job, and the unexpected problems that always pop up. There is the weather, unforgiving time tables, unrealistic expectations, guests who have had one too many drinks before the group photos, brides who are late because of wardrobe malfunctions, I could tell you lots of stories. And while these problems are a headache when you are working when the wedding is over they become funny anecdotes that make that job memorable.

I always try to behave in a professional manner. And one of the most important things is to be on time for the wedding. Time is important especially if you want to get some nice sunset pictures that couples love. Getting on time to the wedding is not a problem. I always leave early just in case there are any traffic accidents or any other similar problem. And being early allows me to familiarize myself with the hotel in case I don't know it or something has changed. And I have time to create a working plan for the upcoming wedding. But often time problems lie with the couple or the guests. And time problems don't end once the ceremony starts. I was doing a wedding in cozumel where the minister was making this beautiful and moving speech that kept going and going and going and going. It would not end. Meanwhile the sun is coming down relentlessly and the bride had made a point that what she wanted the most was a sunset photo with the sea as a backdrop. And you have to understand that there is a small timeframe in which you can get nice sunset pictures. So when the ceremony was done with the sun right where I needed it and the couple getting ready to hug about 100 guests I came to the bride and I told her that she could hug the guests now or she could have her sunset photo. Since she was leaving the following day she decided the later and I took some spectacular shots with a beautiful Cozumel sunset in the background.

The riviera maya wedding photographer who saved a wedding

A couple of years ago I had a playa del carmen wedding where we could not find the groom right before the wedding. The wedding planner for that wedding is a good friend of mine and when I saw her getting frantic I went to see what was going on. She told me that the bride was very upset because they could not find the groom. He wasn't answering his cell phone. She thought that she was being stood up on her wedding day and wanted to cancel the whole thing. All the guests were waiting by the beach and a disaster seemed imminent. But we knew that he should be around I had saw him earlier already dressed. And the best man had talked to him in his room. My friend couldn't go looking for him so she asked me to go up to his room to see if he was there. So what's this riviera maya wedding photographer going to do but to save the day. I went to his room but he wasn't there or he wasn't answering the door I prepared to get back to the beach to give the bad news when I spotted a couple of black shoes on top of the arm of a couch at the end of the hallway. I went there and found our groom quietly snoring. What happened was that he, the best man and some friends had a last minute bachelor party the night before and were worse for wear due to this, so I learned later. I woke him up and told him that his bride was going to kill him if he didn't get to the ceremony as fast as possible. That woke him up we went to the beach fast as we could. I lied and said that he had gotten himself locked in a bathroom by accident. The bride was just relieved that they could continue with the wedding and I got I nice tip afterwards. Now you see why I don't use my real name on this blog. I could not tell you these stories otherwise. O by the way if you follow the links that you see on this post it will take you to a friends webpage. That's not me. I work with him sometimes and I'm just doing him a favor.

I could go on and on. Like the time I hurt my back in Xcaret, something always happens to me in Xcaret, or the story about the wedding that wasn't meant to be. Wait even with a pen name I cannot tell you about that one. Yes, the life of a riviera maya wedding photographer is definitely an interesting one.

Advice for couples who are planning to have a Wedding in Cancun Mexico

Some pointers for your Wedding in Cancun Mexico

Read this if you are interested in planning to have a Wedding in Cancun Mexico. Destination weddings have become more popular over the years. There are different reasons for this starting from the combination of vacation, honeymoon and wedding all in the same trip. The interest of some couple to do something different than their parents did. And save money at the same time. Yes it can be cheaper to have a Wedding in Cancun than a local one. Whether you want a small event with few guests or a large one with as many people as can come I think Cancun is the place to come. But here are some things to keep in mind when making your decision.

Hotels and resorts know the importance of this industry and how profitable it can be so they will try their best to accommodate you. Some offer package deals that can save you some money. The resort wedding coordinators usually behave in a professional way and will manage your event in a competent manner. The only problem sometimes is the photographers that they hire. The thing is that in some hotels photography services are performed through a franchise which is given not to the best possible photographer but to the one which gives the best commission to the hotel. This doesn't mean that the photographer is a bad one. But I advise you to ask beforehand who will be the photographer and be given samples or the address of their website. Another way to go is to hire your own photographer. This is highly recommended. After all you want your Wedding in Cancun to be professionally photographed. Some hotels will charge an outside photographer for the right to photograph in their premises. You should ask beforehand if this is the case and how much they charge. Your photographer might absorb that cost or ask you to pay for this extra charge. Keep this in mind when arranging your wedding through a hotel and when hiring a photographer. The good thing about these packages is that you can show up and everything should be ready and since the hotel wants you to do everything in their premises they might give you some nice savings. Just do your homework and investigate how good a particular resort is with these type of services.

If you are not marrying in a resort or you want more flexibility or customization for your event then the best thing to do is to hire a professional wedding coordinator. He/She will take care of finding you a judge for your ceremony, paperwork such as marriage licenses, and taking care of all the other details such as flowers. Just as I advised you before do your homework with the wedding coordinator. She should have a decent website and should answer any questions you may have satisfactorily before you hire her services. This option might be a bit more expensive but it's the best way to insure that you will have a great Wedding in Cancun Mexico.

I'm also advising you to search for a photographer on your own if you can. Especially if you want the best possible wedding photographs of your event. A good wedding photographer should have a professionally designed website. They should have professional quality photographs of the events they have covered. This way if you are not convinced with the photographer that the wedding coordinator is pushing on you, you can hire another one. Like in every industry there are different price ranges depending on how good the Wedding photographer is. But they are usually cheaper than a photographer in the United States specially since if you hire one you will have to pay for traveling expenses.

Another nice plus of having a wedding in Cancun Mexico is that you can have a nice trip to a beautiful location and you will have the perfect excuse to come back for your fifth, tenth, and 25th anniversary. The weather is great, the location gorgeous, there are tons of activities for you and your guests. I know it sounds like a commercial but I've lived here for a while and I still love the place. I hope my advice helps you to have a wonderful Wedding in Cancun Mexico.

The reason for bolaay cancun wedding tips

Welcome to this blog. The reason why I started this blog was to give people wanting to have a wedding in cancun mexico a behind the scenes look to the wedding industry in this Caribbean destination. I'm hoping that the information you find in this blog will help you avoid the possible problems you may have while you have your Riviera Maya or Cancun wedding. you will have many questions and doubts about the whole process. I've worked for several years in this industry mainly as a wedding photographer. And in those years I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly.  People usually want a Cancun wedding because of the beautiful sandy beaches and the great weather. They want this important event to be as special as possible. For the most part this is possible you just need to avoid some common pitfalls that people sometimes make when arranging their Cancun wedding. After all, most of you are not from Mexico and don't know the destiny and you have to make all the arrangements through the Internet or by phone. And the people you usually go for advice want to sell you something. My main interest with this is to help you avoid the bad elements that exist in every industry. Elements that indirectly damage the reputation of the real professionals who have to compete with them. There are thousands of Cancun weddings every year and you want yours to be a great one. I hope that this blog is of some help to you.
